Well, I think that, in the Open Source Community’s case, most of the content is freely distributable as long as one gives the credit to the original author (basic GPL principle).

Taken this as true, I think that, reusing HowTo’s, articles and, in general, content, is ok as long as one gives credit to the original author.

Besides, this gives a chance to revise content and improve.

    It most cases you are correct. But as always one should make them self familiar with the license attached with that particular open source item.
